Malleco is a country located in Sealasia. Its capital city and largest city is Nueva Traiguén and has a population of 9,210,729 habitants. Meanwhile the entire country has a population of 40,712,620 habitants.

History[]

As a [Majapahit]-discovered vassal state (1300s-1400s)[]

The Sealasian territory for what is now modern-day Malleco was first discovered around the 1300s by the thalassocratic [Javanese] maritime explorers of the [Majapahit] Empire. Als discovering existing inhabitants within their newly-discovered lands, the [Majapahit] was quick enough to convince the Indigenous Mallequinans on arranging agreements that makes what is now modern-day Malleco into a vassal/tributary state of theirs.

As an Odalysian vassal state (1400s-1500s)[]

After several contemplations on divesting unnecessary landmass, the [Majapahit] Empire granted the Sultanate of Odalysia Independence. As part of their Independence from the [Majapahit], the Empire granted Odalysia their entire vassals in Sealasia. While Odalysia's Independence from the [Majapahit] and their granting to all of the [Javanese] Empire's Sealasia territories, it was far too unlike previous rule, as Odalysia was met with constant rebellion from the native inhabitants which the Sultanate had always extinguished from escalation

As an Odalysian-Jiandese condominium (1500s-1530s)[]

Exhausted with constant insurgencies, Odalysia negotiated with the Jiandao Empire on granting partial military protection to the entire Sealasian territories held by the previous. Under this condominium system, Odalysia would biannually pay Jiandao tributes in order to maintain their military presence and shared imperial power While this managed to neutralize the Indigenous Mallequinans from revolting against the Odalysian Empire, the Sultanate would face a western colonial force that would not only make them lose Malleco, but Lencos as well.

As a Hispanic-Jiandese condominium (1530s-1700s)[]

Since the 1520s, the Hispain Empire began to conquer across Hojiu and Micronesia by landing on Boerne first, then go north and south. However, there were existing pre-colonial polities that existed in what is now modern-day Cochrane, with the Odalysian Empire being the largest occupant out of anyone during this period. The Odalysian Empire occupied Solot, Sembuangan, Belawan, [Mindoro], Lencos Tagalog, Lencos Central and most importantly, Punta del Oro, which during this period was called by Odalysia as "Kota Seludong". Finding out Hispain's activities in the Islands and with Odalysia being obviously outmatched by Hispain's strongholds in Eretia and Nuslon, they took a route of compromise where the Sultanate cede all of their Jiandese-shared Sealasia territories to the colonial empire. While Hispain accepted the Odalysian Sultanate's offer of compromise, the colonial empire continued to enroach upon what they call Cochrane and expell all Odalysian Imperial Forces from what is now Lencos. Hispain later named what they had just received from the Odalysian Empire as "Malleco", continuing it's status as a condominium between them and Jiandao for a time being.

As a Hispanic colony (1700s-1872)[]

Jiandao, acknowledging Hispain's true strength in the international stage during this period, began to gradually withdraw their imperial forces from the newly-named Malleco, before issuing a formal termination of imperial power to the Hispain Empire. Hispain, after paying a surplus amount of valuables to Jiandao as a termination fee, now solely controls the entirety of Malleco, where they would rule around it only by themselves for a century.

First Republic (1872-1924)[]

While most Latin Nuslon countries started to gain independence against Hispain and Lusitania around the 1820s, these colonial empires would still get a grip on their territories in Hojiu and Sealasia. It would change when three catholic priests in [Cavite] were charged and executed for alleged rebellion, that was a turning point for Mallequinans as they saw their master state enforcing capital punishment to people who have promoted goodwill and freedom. The Mallequinans declared independence from Hispain in 1872. Although on paper they would be the very first democracies in the Far East, it was impaired with a plethora of traitors and villains who led through the nascent government's successions through betrayals, coups, and assassinations. Their first few leaders were dictators composed of impostors who went through bloodbath to whoever takes the seat, it was very much a turbulent time for Malleco as "Unity" was what they were lacking.

As a Cochranean protectorate (1903-1924)[]

Exhausted with political instability and the lack of trust among revolutionaries, early Malleco sought partial control from the newly-established Cochrane. early Cochrane was a Federation, then a Unitary State, and they were much more robust, cohesive and had this thing called "Unity", which early Malleco lacked of. Cochrane's Gen. Pres. Miguel Malvar approved the idea of Malleco's offered status to become their protectorate, as Malleco again suffered from their very worst troubles tragically set upon their first years of independence. During this period, Cochrane appointed politicians for Malleco, provided stable infrastructure for the country's government, and used Cochrane's army as a replacement to Malleco's own to mitigate alleged destabilization plans by the latter's military.

Second Republic (1924-1946)[]

as a Nuslonian dependency (1924-1942)[]

After the Hispanic Empire lost a war to the Nuslon Federation, they ceded their East Indies Colonies to the Nuslonians, which surprisingly included Cochrane and Malleco which were establishing their own flawed sovereignty from scratch. The Nuslon Armed Forces first came after on invading and occupying Heleniana, Andriana, then Belau, in 1898 and 1900.

Alarmed with the spread of the NSF's spread of invasions throughout the Far East, Gen. Pres. Macario Sacay ordered Military Dictatorship to Cochrane, which during this point also affected Malleco. Despite defense efforts, Malleco lost after a series of intense battles in 1924 between them and the NSF, marking the end of Cochranean protection and the start of Nuslonian dependency (Cochrane would follow on getting defeated to the NSF in 1935). Under NSF dependency, they have drastically reform the political system guaranteeing stability and cohesion among Mallequinans, and formally establish a strong republic of Sealasia.

as a Neipanese puppet state (1942-1946)[]

(this part will be retconned soon once Redd plans out a non-fascist Neipan)

During the onset of World War II, Fascist Neipan began to ravage throughout Pacifia from north to south & east to west, and Cochrane and Malleco is nothing from off to the insanity the Rising Sun had. Nuslonian Forces were too overwhelmed with how far-fetched Fascist Neipan's strength was, so much that [Pearl Harbor] stateside was even bombed, and it led to the eventual invasion of both Cochrane and Malleco. Under these conditions, the two countries became puppets states of Fascist Neipan, where obviously most of their citizens during this period went through inhumane treatment that every student in history class has to memorize.

Third Republic under Free Association with Cochrane (1946-present)[]

After the end of World War II, the two countries were liberated by the Nuslon Armed Forces from terror who promised to return during the very start of the invasions by the Axis powers. Afterwards after in just a year, both Cochrane and Malleco were given the independence and sovereignty they had wanted for several decades, with additional terms. Both countries would be independent and sovereign as guaranteed, but would share these following powers that would be under the leadership of Cochrane:

  • Defense and Diplomatic relations
  • Armed forces
  • Finance
  • Economic relations
  • Cultural relations
  • Migration policy
  • Customs policy

Malleco's dependency on Cochrane's certain services gave them favors as the Ejército de Cochrane military forces had managed to extinguish two communist rebeliions from taking over the country during 1955 and again in 1967. Despite continuing ties, both Cochrane and Malleco slowly deviating away from having certain commonalities and began to be culturally distinct from each other through the years.

Malleco-Cochrane high tensions (1972-1986)[]

Since Malleco has been a social democratic country (based on [Scandinavian] influences) since the elections in 1970, tensions with Cochrane began in 1972 over the issue of human rights, and the increase in requests for exile to Malleco. This began breaking agreements and treaties with Cochrane, in exchange for signing with Hispain and Canberne as replacement. There were even 3 times where tensions intensified, such as the installation of antennas for opposition radio stations in Cochrane on short wave, to failed attempts to attack the embassy of Hispain (a country that uses as an interest office for Malleco and Santa Cruz in Cochrane). Tensions eased in 1986, when democracy returned to Cochrane. While the Malleco-Cochrane treaties and agreements were reinstated in 1987, under the "New Hague's Peace Treaty of 1987".
